It’s hard to believe three months of blogging has come and gone. I’ve learned so much these last three months and been working super hard on my blog. Life has been chaotic here so I haven’t been able to devote as much time as I would like.
We are a military family and are selling our house and being moved from Colorado to Georgia in a month. We’ve had to entertain three kids during four crazy days of all-day house showings. It’s hard to keep the house show ready with three kids and three dogs running around. Luckily for me, my amazing hubby has been on leave and been super helpful. The next few months will be busier than ever.

-I did increase my income even though it wasn’t a huge increase
What did I do that helped grow my blog in May?
-I continued to focus on social media. Toward the end of the month my focus switched somewhat. I did some research and decided to start focusing more on creating “killer” content.
-Facebook groups were a major help in increasing my followers and page views.
-I began placing two AdSense ads in each post.
-I made it a morning habit to check my google AdSense publisher behavior. It showed me which posts were bringing in the most revenue. Those are the posts that I promoted that day, unless I had published a new post.
-Pin, Pin, Pin… Seriously, I can’t stress enough how important Pinterest is for bloggers. Make sure to create multiple pins for each blog post. My second social media platform is Twitter. Follow others and tweet their content as well as your own. Retweet your old blog posts as well as your new.
-Sign up for rich pins on Pinterest. This was confusing for me but made a huge difference. Basically every thing you pin or repin will have your name on it. People can then go to your profile and see what else you’ve pinned and also access your blog.
-Be yourself. It’s so easy to look at other blogs and see that they’re getting tons of views. Their niche might be different from yours and that’s ok. If you post original and creative content you will be successful too.
-As with everything in life, continue to learn. I search almost daily on ways to be a better blogger. Follow other’s in your niche to see what they are doing.
-Create “Killer” content.
-Make your Pinterest images amazing. Think of the Pins you save on Pinterest. Are the Pins boring or messy? Personally I use Canva for my Pins.
