Month 9 Blog Income Report

(November)

blogging

It’s time to take a look at my month nine blog income and traffic.

Over the past nine months my blog has had its ups and downs, but has continually grown and provided income. When I started blogging I had high hopes of generating a substantial income. While my income isn’t yet where I’d like it to be, I continue to learn and apply new strategies to increase it.

If you’d like to read a little about how my blogging journey began I recommend checking out these two posts.

Let’s take a look at my goals for November:

  • Publish three gift guides I actually published five gift guides

  • Create ten new affiliate pins I did create ten new affiliate pins

  • Increase followers and income My followers and income increased

  • Start brainstorming New Years posts I didn’t do this

  • Get into a blogging schedule so that it doesn’t take over my life! Nope, didn’t happen this month

You can see my other income reports here.

I recently started using Boardbooster to schedule my pins. I personally use Boardbooster to repin my own content to my own boards as well as group boards. If you haven’t signed up for Boardbooster yet you can start with a free trial of 500 pins.

Three months ago I started the course Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing and love it. Michelle teaches how to choose the right affiliates for your niche. One of the biggest things I learned from the course is to figure out what your audience wants, what problem do they need solved? This course is definitely worth the money. It’s not just a onetime course, you can continue to go back through the course and learn more each time. Check out the course here and start making more money blogging!

December Goals:

  • Promote my gift guides and create more pins for them

  • Increase my followers

  • Get two sponsored opportunities

  • Update two old posts

Here are a few other ways I make money from home.

  • Swagbucks: In November I redeemed my Swagbucks and got a $25 Amazon gift card to buy Christmas presents with. With Swagbucks you earn points my watching videos, taking survey’s and shopping through their links. If your going to buy something on Amazon or another site, go through their links you’ll earn points. Once you reach 2,500 points you can redeem them for a $25 gift card or keep saving up to get larger gift cards. Another awesome perk is that you earn points when you refer your friends to Swagbucks!

  • Inbox Dollars: I didn’t do much with Inbox Dollars this month. Inbox Dollars works pretty much the same way as Swagbucks. One thing I like about Inbox Dollars is that I can play games to earn money too. Just like Swagbucks you earn money when you refer friends and others to Inbox Dollars. My favorite thing about Inbox dollars is that you earn money just opening emails!

  • I also use Ibotta and Checkout 51 but haven’t done much with them this month.

My tips and advice:

  • Be persistent! I’ve applied for so many opportunities and gotten turned down but this past month I started getting jobs!!!

  • Follow others in your niche. Don’t copy what they are doing but instead be inspired by their content.

  • Keep a notebook nearby to write your ideas down. I come up with most of my blog post ideas as I fall asleep at night. By keeping a notebook by my bed I’m able to jot it down and come back to it the next day.

  • Don’t let social media take over your life. I’ve struggled with this for a few months but finally have it under control. I used to participate in every Facebook thread possible and spent hours per day completing those threads. Not only did this take away from my family time and personal time but I had no time to create content. I’ve shifted my focus to creating content now and only participate in a few threads per day.

  • Try to publish blog posts at least once a week to keep your followers interested.

  • Research blogging tips. I’ve been reading a few books that have inspired and helped me tremendously. She Means Business by Carrie Green is an amazing book. Here are some other books that are on my reading list:
