Lighting

If you are going to be creating some amazing photographs of your baby, you need to make sure you have the right lighting to work with. Lighting is incredibly important when taking photos because you can’t edit lighting in afterwards, but you don’t need to buy lots of fancy equipment to get a good light in the photo. Instead, you can set up the photos in front of a window on a clear day. Natural light can’t be beaten and it will work amazingly.

Equipment

A good camera is essential to get the photos you want of your child. If you don’t have an SLR camera, see if you can borrow one from a family member which you can use for the day. Make sure you use a good lens with your camera so that you can get those little details in. You want to get a photograph which is good enough for you to hang on the wall, so a good camera is key.

Atmosphere

When you see baby photo shoots online, you will often see that they are shot in front of a white background or in a cute little basket, however you can be as creative as you like with this. The atmosphere of your images is anything which is surrounding the baby. This will include the background and any props that you want to bring into it. For example a great idea for a shoot would be to have a white blanket and background, and then to hang some soft fairy lights above the baby for a magical effect.

Clothes

The clothes you put your baby in will make or break a photoshoot. You can actually make your atmosphere fit around your baby. For example if you bought a cute little bunny costume, the surroundings could consist of a sunny background and grassy ground. Your baby can wear hats, felt babyshoes, blankets and costumes depending on your taste, and it will be so cute to see them lying there looking like a little angel.

Family or pets

The last thing you can do for a baby photoshoot is bring on other family members. Think about having a photo with parents, with siblings and one with a pet. If you have a dog, cat, rabbit or even a hamster, you can add this into the photo and it will create quite possibly the cutest photograph you have ever seen in your life. Have some fun with it and make some great memories.
