Simple Squares Dishcloth: Free Knitting Pattern

Free dishcloth knitting pattern. Easy squares dishcloth knitting pattern. A great pattern for beginners.

If you’ve followed my blog for long, you know how much I love knitting! My favorite thing to knit is dishcloths, and I love sharing free dishcloth knitting patterns with you.

Knitted dishcloths add so much character and fun to washing the dishes. I do have a dishwasher but find that not everything fits or gets washed right in the dishwasher. As a military family, we rent our house, so we don’t get to have a top of the line dishwasher.

For me, knitting is just one aspect of being a homemaker. I create dishcloths to be used in my kitchen. Then the dishcloths are faded or getting worn; I use them as cleaning rags.

Knitting is such a calming activity. It helps me to clear my mind and be present in the moment. There are a few dishcloth knitting patterns that are my favorites — this one, the textured knitting pattern, Grandmas favorite dishcloth, and the simple stripes dishcloth knitting pattern. You can click on the images below to see the free patterns.

This dishcloth knits up as 9 inches by 6 inches. I find that it’s a perfect size.
