When life gets busy, our houses get messy. Whether you have kids at home, or it’s just you, the mess tends to build up if we don’t stick to a daily cleaning routine.
There are days when it seems impossible to get anything done. Whether you’re running errands or just not feeling well, you simply can’t get it all done. By creating a cleaning schedule or routine, you’ll be able to get your house clean in 30 min: Yup, just 30 minutes to a clean house.
Most days I’m on top of the housework. I love going to bed at night when the laundry is done, the kitchen is clean, and the house is straightened. However, days like today when school drop-off was difficult, I had a workout to do and blogging work to do, the housework has piled up.

After dropping the kids off at school, working on blogging stuff and sipping some coffee, I feel recharged and ready to tackle my daily cleaning tasks. I still have a workout to fit in and more work to do so I’m going to go with my 30-minute cleaning routine to get things under control.
If you’re like me, you don’t want to or have time to spend all day cleaning your house. You shouldn’t have to spend all day cleaning your house. This thirty-minute routine will possibly let you have time to sneak in a nap or some time to read.
30 Minutes To A Clean House
–Grab a basket! I use baskets for everything. Fill your basket with all the dirty laundry you find around the house and get a load of laundry going. Now grab another basket and take a trip around your house grabbing anything that isn’t where it is supposed to be. Your house should already look cleaner. Return everything in the basket to its place and fill your basket with any dirty dishes you find. Now head to your kitchen.
–Clean up the kitchen. Run some dishwater or load the dishwasher, whichever you prefer. I like to wash my dishes by hand; the reason is that I hate emptying the dishwasher. I find it easier to empty a few dishes from the dish rack a couple of times a day. After you’ve handled the dishes, give your counters a quick wipe down. You can see the cleaning spray that I absolutely love here.
–Switch the laundry. Depending on how fast you clean up your kitchen, your laundry may be ready to go into the dryer. If not just move on to the next task.
–Grab your cleaning spray and quickly wipe all the bathroom counters. This isn’t a deep clean, save that for another day when you have more time.
–Vacuum up any messes or the whole floor. I have a stick vacuum that I use when I’m quickly cleaning up. I save the big vacuum for days when I have more time.
–Last but not least, make your bed. Making your bed every day can change your entire mood. When I walk into my bedroom, and my bed is made, the whole room looks more inviting. If you don’t normally worry about making your bed, give it a try for a week and see if it changes your mood or outlook.
